2016 Dinner & Dance Report

After another successful season, the 2016 Hambrook CC Dinner & Dance was held at the club on Saturday 8th October.

A well attended event saw presentations and the relevant thank you’s made to everyone for another great year for the club and the progress made in the past two years.

The awards were presented as follows:

  • Sunday XI Player of the Year – Richard Dyer
  • 3rd XI Player of the Year – Danika Dyer
  • 2nd XI Player of the Year – Stuart Rutter
  • 1st XI Player of the Year – Edin Ahmed

A special presentation was made to our 2016 Overseas player Tyler Johansson in celebration of his 52 wickets and 833 runs.

It has also been confirmed that Tyler will be receiving the 2016 Bristol & District Cricket Association bowling award at their dinner on Friday 14th October.

In addition the following playing awards were also made:

Club Caps (maiden 50 or 5 wickets) were awarded to:

  • Tyler Johansson – 5 for 31 v Lansdown 2nd XI
  • Seb Hull – 64 v Christian Malford
  • Dan Carter – 5 for 41 v Coalpit Heath

5 wickets in a match – trophy & match ball:

  • Danika Dyer (5 for 11 v Bishopston 4th XI & 5 for 55 v BWI & P 3rd XI)
  • Nathan Warren (5 for 17 v Dyrham & Hinton 1st XI & 6 for 33 v Ampney Crucis)
  • Tyler Johansson (5 for 31 v Lansdown 2nd XI – plus a broken bail!!!)
  • Dan Carter (5 for 41 v Coalpit Heath)
  • George Weston (5 for 18 v Nailsea 1st XI)
  • Mitchell Vardy (5 for 25 v Westerleigh)
  • Mark Dyer (5 for 26 v Winterbourne 2nd XI)

Maiden 100’s – presentation of a Centurion Tie:

  • Chris Millett – 107* v Nailsea 2nd XI
  • Nick Woore – 119* v Hampset 2nd XI
  • Alex Dyer – 106* v Christian Malford
  • Tyler Johansson – 114* v Cam

Bouquets were presented to Tracey Vardy & Sarah Yearsley to thank them for making the teas in 2016. Carol Dyer was also thanked for the roles she has undertaken in 2016 (teas, 1st XI scorer, senior cricket availability and organising the Dinner & Dance) and was presented with flowers.

The main club awards were decided by a panel that included President Peter Reeves & Chairman Martin Dyer and were awarded as follows:

  • Young Player of the Year – Dan Carter
  • Brian Woodbury Award – Tom & Sarah Yearsley
  • 2016 Clubman Award – Adrian Kislingbury
